We are currently living in uncertain times, with changes happening almost every day. We have had families and campers reach out to us about what ECM will be doing about the current COVID-19 pandemic.  We don’t have all the answers at this time, but we hope we can provide you with some clarity as to what is happening at camp.  For more details, please read the information below.

Thankful for your continued support,
The Stayner Camp Team

  • Are summer camp programs cancelled?

On the recommendations of our Stayner directors, Heroes on the Move Day Camps have been cancelled for summer 2020. Planning and organizing that has already taken place will be carried forward to plan for an amazing 2021 season! We also look forward to finding ways to connect with our HOTM community in the fall or spring when restrictions have been lifted

Family Camp as normally programmed has been cancelled for this summer. However, if government directives allow, we still look forward to connecting with our Seasonal and Family Camping community in a less formally programmed setting this summer.

  • Can I come stay at my trailer or cottage?

As of Friday, June 12, Stage 2 of Ontario's reopening plan allows us to open up camp a bit more. All seasonal residents are now welcome!

  • Are campsites/cabins/lodge rooms available to rent for non-seasonal campers?

Yes! Campsites are available through the month of June for any who would like to enjoy the campgrounds.

Decisions regarding opening cabins and lodge rooms will be announced later this month.

  • Which areas are open and which areas are closed at camp?

If you come to the front office, please wear a mask. As we reconnect with friends at the camp, please be reminded to stay that 6' apart.

Washrooms are open. Masks are to be worn as you enter any of the 3 washroom facilities. You will find sanitizer at the entrance, please sanitize on the way in and the way out. You will also notice that only every other stall is open, which allows for distancing between occupants.

The playground and basketball court are open at the camp. Parents are to ensure their children are social distancing.
If they wish to play basketball, they must bring their own basketball and it is with members of their own household or those in their social circle of 10.
The library will be open to borrow books. Come to the front office wearing a mask and we will let you in through the office. Please exit through the lobby.

Outdoor gatherings of up to 100 are now allowed. However, proper social distancing must still be maintained. Our buildings remain closed for indoor use.

  • How can we help the camps right now?

The biggest thing you can do is pray for us as the COVID-19 situation continues to develop and evolve, and we work hard to follow directions from the government and health units.

Donations can also be made. In this time of financial uncertainty, we know that many of you may be struggling.  We feel the weight of this as well, and we humbly ask that those who are still able would consider financially supporting Mishewah and Stayner.  Donations to our general operating budget are particularly welcome at this time.  More info on how to donate can be found on our Donations/Payments Page under the "Support Us" menu
