Frequently Asked Questions
Camping Season
Q: When is the trailer park open?
The trailer park at Stayner is open for camping May 1 to October 31 annually. Residency in trailers is not permitted during the early spring, late fall and winter months, in accordance with township of Clearview bylaws.
Q: What events happen at Stayner Camp during the season that I can participate in?
Our camp program team offers some weekend activities through June and early July. These will be posted on the website in late spring. In July, three weeks of Heroes on the Move youth Day Camps are in full swing, and following that, two weeks of family camp utilize the grounds from end to end. On the third Sunday in September, our community churches host a Fall Festival at the camp. A large, all-community church service starts the day at 10 AM, and a variety of incredible activities fill the afternoon.
Staying at Camp: Trailer Sites, Cabins & Cottages
Q: I would like to bring my trailer to Stayner. What is available?
Trailer sites with 30 amp power and water are available all season long for you to come and enjoy our community and take in the tourist area sights and sounds. Simply call the camp for availability. Seasonal sites with power and water are available for seasonal camping. Our fully serviced sites are full, but some become available periodically. Status as a seasonal or permanent trailer resident requires the signing of our statement of faith and adherence to our campground guidelines. Call us for information and rates.
Q: Do you have cottages and what do they contain?
Two housekeeping cottages can be rented anytime from the May long weekend through to Labour Day. They are equipped with all you need to prepare meals for your family. Each cottage has a queen bed and a bunk. Linens are provided for an extra cost. Cots can be added for additional guests. 3 piece washrooms are in each. The camp has 3 main washroom locations for showers.
Q: What is in a cabin?
Our camp cabins are simple structures with 4 bunk beds. Power outlets let you plug in small appliances. A picnic table outside lets you BBQ. Many guests bring kitchen shelter tents and set up a family friendly place to visit and enjoy their time at camp.
Q: I want to book a lodge room. When are they available?
Our lodge is used year-round by retreat groups. There are occasional openings for folks who want to visit the area. Weekday bookings are generally more available than weekends. During Family Camp, lodge rooms can be booked by the day or by the week. Note: we do require that weekend bookings at family camp be for 2 consecutive nights due to high demand. Lodge rooms come with full linens. Small refrigerators are available for keeping beverages cool. We ask that meal preparation not be done in the lodge rooms. The dining room offers meals during the 15 days of programming.
Local Churches
If you are here camping with us for the weekend, and are not sure where to go to church, feel free to support our local churches who in turn support our camp! Stayner Evangelical Missionary Church, Faith EMC Wasaga Beach and Clearview Community Church are partner churches with the programs at Stayner. Any of them would welcome you to attend Sunday services.
Stuff for Kids at Camp
We love kids at camp! Check out our Heroes on the Move Programs for ages 6 – 12 that runs during the month of July. During Family Camp, programs for kids and teens run every day. On those hot hazy days of summer when the kids are camping with you feel free to enjoy the shade of the pines. The playground and basketball court are readily available.
