Kids Programming Director

Summary

The Kids Programming Director provides spiritual leadership, direction, and vision to the children’s ministries of Stayner Camp and Christian Retreat Centre. This role emphasizes introducing children to the life-changing love of Jesus and fostering Christian faith formation through Stayner Camp programs year-round. The Kids Programming Director assists the Family Camp Programming Director or Managing Director by working diligently in a team effort with camp staff, parents, volunteers, and attendees in support of the vision and mission of Stayner Camp. The Kids Programming Director is accountable to the Managing Director.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as
  • Ability to report to 240 Scott Street, Stayner ON during all children’s programming, meetings, and other required sessions.
  • Theological or childhood studies education at a certificate level or higher from an accredited institution, or an acceptable equivalent (preferred).
  • A minimum of three (3) years of documented ministry experience in a church or camp setting (preferred).
  • Regular attendance at an evangelical church and good standing with one’s
  • Successful completion and submission of a Vulnerable Sector

Responsibilities and Duties

General Responsibilities:

  • Oversee every aspect of the Kids Programming of Stayner Camp and provide support for the various ministries within the Children’s

Specific Duties:

  • Coordinate March Break Camp, TOP Summer Day Camps, Family Camp Kids Ministry and other events for children throughout the year about ministry, scheduling, and facility use.
  • Select curriculum, supplies and resources as necessary for the Kids
  • Coordinate people to serve in the Kids Programming for any special camp activities and events when needed.
  • Recruit people to serve in Kids Programming: – submit names for approval to the management team via the Managing Director, interview potential candidates to serve in Kids Programming, complete reference checks for volunteers, ensure all volunteers complete appropriate training (including child safety training), ensure all recruits submit a Vulnerable Sectors Check within the requirements of Stayner Camp Child Protection Policy.
  • Submit monthly updates to management team, and a year-end ministry report to the Evergreen Christian Ministries Board of The Kids Programming Director will be asked to strategically initiate & develop places for growth, including building leadership teams and new ministry initiatives that meet the needs of the camp and community.

Evaluation and Compensation:

  • Position (part-time) – based on a salaried position of 5hrs per week for non-ministry weeks and a 40hr week salary for ministry weeks, to Hours are flexible upon approval from the Managing Director. The Kids Programming Director will ultimately be required to work the hours necessary to achieve the camp’s goals and objectives.
  • Salary will be commensurate with education and documented ministry
  • An annual performance evaluation and review will be completed at the end of each year by the Managing
  • An annual review of the compensation package will be completed every Fall by the Finance
