The Watchmen began their ministry in 1968 as a group of friends entering a talent contest sponsored by Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, Ontario. After winning the competition, they quickly found themselves in demand—and the journey began.
For over 56 years, The Watchmen have traveled extensively across southern Ontario, with performances in the U.S. and even aboard a gospel music cruise. Their dedication to sharing gospel music has earned them numerous accolades from the Canadian Gospel Music Association (CGMA), including awards for Top Male Quartet, Top Musician, and Top Soloist.
Beyond the music, The Watchmen are deeply grateful for the fellowship, safe travels, and joyful moments they’ve shared. Most importantly, they cherish the opportunities where the Holy Spirit has transformed their efforts into life-changing ministry. Their mission remains the same: to serve the Lord first and foremost while offering uplifting Christian entertainment to all who listen.
Michael David Booth grew up surrounded by Southern Gospel music, inspired by his dad’s group and their stories. He became a born-again Christian at seven and developed a love for music, first as a drummer—banging on his mom’s pots and pans—before earning a jazz scholarship in high school.
Though drumming came naturally, singing took time. With practice and a passion for ministry, he overcame his fears and became the skilled vocalist he is today.
As part of The Booth Brothers, Michael has shared the stage with top artists through the Gaither Homecoming and their own concert tours. In addition to singing tenor and emceeing for the group, he has built a solo career, releasing projects like Dear Yesterday, featuring songs such as This Side of Heaven and Glorious Unfolding.
