This Christmas, our hearts are full. On Christmas Day, Stayner Camp was honoured to welcome our community for our annual Community Christmas Dinner, sharing food, fellowship, and the joy of the season.

Together, we served more than 300 meals, including 48 delivered meals to 13 families, 103 takeout meals, and 143 dine-in meals. Our kitchen was busy in the best way as we cooked over 160 lbs of turkey, 150 lbs of mashed potatoes, 75 lbs of carrots, and 50 lbs of ham. Dessert was no small task either, with 28 pies, eight dozen cupcakes, and plenty of Christmas cookies enjoyed by all.

None of this would have been possible without our incredible volunteers. Twenty-seven volunteers gave their time across two days, peeling, chopping, stirring, serving, washing dishes, cleaning, and mopping. Your willingness to serve made this meal possible, and we are deeply thankful for each of you.

We are also so grateful for the businesses and individuals who generously supported this dinner. Your donations helped us welcome our neighbours and create a warm, meaningful space for connection and celebration. A special thank you to Harris Farms in Springwater and Fernwood Farms & Market in Stayner for their generous donations of produce and baked goods. We are also thankful for the support of the Kaster family at Kaster Logging, Clearview Nursery, Kitchn Savvy, Diane’s Barbershop, Stayner Home Hardware, Stayner TimberMart, Lafreniere Auto, and Mullen & Mullen Mortgage Architects. Please join us in showing appreciation by thanking them and supporting their businesses.

As we reflect on this season, we are reminded of Luke 2:14 (CSB):
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Merry Christmas from all of us at Stayner Camp, and thank you for being part of this beautiful community.
