With over 20 years in law enforcement, Carlamay has served in various specialty units, bringing dedication and expertise to the profession. A passionate advocate for empowerment—especially for women—Carlamay has supported at-risk youth, newcomers, immigrants, colleagues, and others, fostering resilience and connection.
Her journey is one of perseverance, having overcome cancer, divorce, single parenthood, and the challenges of a PTSD diagnosis. Refusing to conform to societal expectations, she has forged her own path with purpose and determination.
Now retired from the Calgary Police Service, Carlamay has embarked on a new chapter as a keynote speaker and author. Her book seeks to bridge the generational gap, offering insight into the unspoken thoughts and desires of today’s youth, fostering deeper understanding and meaningful conversations.
With a background in psychology, sociology, and music, she enjoys singing and spending time with family. She believes that, no matter life’s challenges, everyone carries a light within them—one that deserves to shine.
